The value of a great wading boot should not be underestimated. Fly fisherman need something that is going to preform well, something that will hold up over time. If we can do both of those things and take it easy on the pocket book at the same time, well why not? Let me introduce you to the Redington Palix River Men’s Fly Fishing Rubber Wading Boot.

Construction of Redington Palix River Fly Fishing Boot

This boot is actually pretty well made. I stand by Redington products and Redington does too. The boots are designed with a canvas upper that provides pretty good stability. They have a rubber toe cap that provides abraision resistance.

The non curosive metal hardware hooks and pull loops stand up over time. The lace hooks are large enough that getting laced up happens in a flash.

The durable rubber sole makes for walking on the slimy river bottoms a breeze. My pair has lasted over 2 years and still going strong. The sole is stud compatible if you need a little extra grip under extreme circumstances.

Preformance of the Redington Palix River Fly Fishing Boot

The Redington Palix River Fly Fishing Boot preforms quite well right out of the box.

With a standard sock my feet stay warm all day long anytime of year. I do a lot of fishing in the winter and early spring as that is my slow time at work. I literally have stood in water with ice floating around me and my feet stood strong all day.

Most of my fly fishing days are spent boulder hopping. I live in the Western Sierra Nevada Mountains where the shorelines are rocky and the footing is uneven. The Redington Palix River Fly Fishing Boot keeps me steady on any surface.

Conclusion

If you are considering a wallet friendly wading boot then I would strongly recommend you try this one. I have personally used these and they are tried and true.

Keep in mind that sizing on these boots is larger than normal wading boots. They run a full size and a half larger than other boots.
